• MTO has approved Magna International Inc. to conduct testing of automated last-mile delivery vehicles in Toronto. Magna International will be deploying fully autonomous, electric delivery vehicles starting May 2025. The City of Toronto has no regulatory authority over this pilot, however, City staff will monitor the deployment to inform future policy and regulation. This presentation outlines the Magna’s Automated Last Mile Delivery Device (LMDD) pilot program in Toronto, highlighting its technical specifications, safety measures, deployment area, and role of City of Toronto in the pilot.
