Neighbourhood Retail and Services Study Update Presentation – Biweekly Meeting – September 2, 2025
Toronto City Planning is sharing proposed zoning changes that would expand small scale retail permissions in neighbourhoods, and seeking feedback for their report to the Planning and Housing Committee in October.
An update on the project since we last connected in December 2024, when City Council referred the item back to staff for further consultations on the proposed zoning changes to make it easier to open small, local businesses in and around residential neighbourhoods.
Staff are engaging with interested parties from July through September to provide an update on the proposal and how it responds to feedback heard previously. The additional feedback received from this new phase of consultation will inform City staff’s recommendations back to Planning and Housing Committee later this year.
