Yes! This program is completely free to participate in. This is an opportunity to promote your business or event in downtown Toronto’s Billy Bishop airport. Successful participants have met potential new clients in international visitors and airport staff. We also provide free social media promotion during and after your activation.
No, events taking place outside of Toronto are not eligible for this program. The Love Local program is focused on promoting tourism in Toronto and local businesses that serve Toronto.
Exceptions may apply if your business sells or serves in Toronto. If your business is located outside of Toronto but serves the Toronto community, please indicate in your intake application form, any and all commercial activities you conduct in Toronto.
If your business falls into one of the categories listed below, your business is not eligible to participate in the Love Local Program.
Airport foot traffic is dependent on the day, season and number of flights. Foot traffic is typically higher on weekdays than weekends. Flights are ongoing on weekends, however, limited airport staff are present in the terminal on weekends. We cannot guarantee number of visitors during your booking.
Prior to application and booking, consider how you will activate the kiosk space to catch the attention of visitors walking by your booth through clear signage, visuals on kiosk TV, professional display of your products or event promotional videos, decorations, etc. Make your business stand out from the crowd!
No, all bookings must start on a weekday from Monday-Friday. Applications that select a weekend start date will automatically be assigned the Friday start date prior to the weekend.
On the first day of your booking, vendors receive a kiosk storage key and set up with Terminal Operations staff to ensure your experience is smooth.

Each kiosk offers unique benefits depending on your pop-up activities and planned set up. Consider kiosk size and your activation activities when deciding which kiosk size would be most appropriate to book.

You may display anything on or around the kiosks within airport guidelines and restrictions.
Prohibited display items include but not limited to:

The kiosk has smooth surfaces. All attachments or decorations must be temporary and must not damage kiosk surfaces.
Yes! Music and Live entertainment are accepted for the duration of your pop-up booking. Please indicate need for access to electricity in your intake application form. Music must be kept at a reasonable level.
Provide as much information about your activation as possible. Businesses with a well-thought out idea of how they would like to activate in the airport are more likely to be successful.
Businesses located within Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) are considered highly for the program. If your business is within a BIA, please indicate your associated BIA.
No. Cooking activities are prohibited. All food must be prepared and cooked off-site. Food warming is accepted. Vendors are restricted from cooking on-site and serving meals.
No. Food samples are accepted.
Whether you’re a home-based or commercial-based business, a copy of your Food Safety Inspection Report must be submitted in your intake application.
If you plan on using a food warmer, we ask you to provide the type of equipment, voltage, list of precautions to maintain public safety, and photo of manufacturer’s plate or manual.
Yes! In your intake application, please submit a copy of your Food Safety Inspection Report. Food vendors who do not submit this report in their intake application may not be considered.
If you currently do not have a Food Safety Inspection Report, you may apply and have your home-based kitchen inspected through Toronto Public Health here: Toronto Public Health Food Safety – New Food Premises

Additional required documents
Each activation day is 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You may set up between 7:00-8:00 a.m.
Yes. If you require a different start or take down time for your pop-up, please indicate in your NOW agreement and Pop-Up Agreement of your alternative pop-up times. Please also inform the Love Local Program Manager via email.
Yes, we can accomodate. Please let the Program Manager know you will not be in and when you plan to return.
Take photos with your kiosk and/or of your display and tag @bbishopairport and @torontoassociationofbias, we’ll repost to our Instagram Stories to amplify your post.
At the end of each week, we post a Vendor Round-Up of all the activations each week. This post will be on both the TABIA and Billy Bishop Airport feed to highlight your business and ongoing reference for past customers.
Yes, you can use the Kiosk TV for promotional materials. Please ensure your promotional materials are either video format or a moving slideshow to avoid TV image burn.
To connect to the kiosk TV, you may use a HDMI port with a laptop or USB memory stick. A HDMI cord is available in the kiosk.
TV Instructions are printed and placed at each kiosk. You may also ask Terminal Operations for set-up assistance.

Yes! You may store any loose items from your display in the kiosk cabinets. Simply lock and reset your display when you’ve returned from your break.
There are some food options at the airport. You may bring a packed lunch.
Yes. We recommend booking the small kiosk if you would like to add additional signage or display stands outside of the kiosk display area to minimize the pop-up footprint in the airport. Please include this information in the NOW agreement.
Yes, one stool will be provided. Additional chairs are available upon request – please indicate in your NOW agreement.
No. You must bring your own table or additional furniture you plan to use outside of the kiosk display area. We allow maximum of up to 6 feet table length (standard foldable table).
Additional furniture includes: 6 ft table, clothing rack, mini fridge, speakers, signage, display stands outside of the kiosk display table, etc. If the item is not within the kiosk display table, this is considered Additional Furniture.
Yes, you have the following three (3) options for parking:
At the moment, we recommend vendors drop off their items at the terminal and park their car on the mainland.
The airport is accessible by car, TTC and walking.

Once you arrive at the Arrivals Level, Passengers Terminal building, please call Terminal Operations.

At the airport, please call Terminal Operations. The number is provided in your Next Steps email. If there are any issues Terminal Operations cannot accomodate, please contact TABIA Pop-Up.
Kiosk locations are at the discretion of Terminal Operations. Please do not move the kiosk in case of injury or damage to the kiosk.
Yes, with some exceptions. Please see below for a few examples of accepted filming and recording activities. If you plan to have a photobooth, take photos or film visitors, you must submit a waiver alongside required documents and obtain a signed waiver from participants.
Clauses are included in the Pop-Up agreement, with special attention to the areas under Use of Location, Common Areas, Release, Liability and Indemnity.
Here are a few examples (including but not limited to) what those clauses mean:
If you are booked for more than one day, you may store your pop-up materials overnight in your booked kiosk. Kiosk cabinets have a lock. Please notify Terminal Operations that you will be storing pop-up materials overnight and they will provide you with a key.
Please note, Billy Bishop Airport, Nieuport Aviation, Ports Toronto and TABIA are not responsible for any potential damage or loss of pop-up materials as a result of overnight storage in kiosks.
Yes! Music and live entertainment are accepted for the duration of your pop-up booking. Music and entertainment footprint must be within reasonable accepted limits by the airport.
