Are you a local Toronto BIA, business, event or festival interested in being a part of an innovative pop-up program at Toronto’s downtown airport? Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and The Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA) are undertaking an innovative partnership that will provide visitors to the airport with the information—and inspiration—they need to embark on new adventures in Canada’s largest city.

With the tagline “Love Local,” our goal is to connect visitors to Toronto by promoting the best that the city has to offer, whether their reason for travel is business, leisure or a mix of the two. From products and services to events and experiences of all kinds, we’re looking for local Toronto businesses just like yours!

Each Activation Day is from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

Set up time is 7:00-8:00 a.m. Take down is after 6:00 p.m. We encourage you to stay the entire duration of the Activation Day to maximize your booking. You may request an adjusted start and end time within the 7:00a.m.-6:00p.m. timeframe. 

Activation Pop-Ups may include:

  • Event and festival promotion
  • Business Improvement Area (BIA) promotion
  • Business promotion (including restaurants and service-based businesses)
  • Pop-up store (selling)
  • Activations (interactive art, games, etc.)
  • Giveaways
  • Sampling
  • Entertainment (including live entertainment, DJs)
  • Music
  • Prohibited: Cooking activities on-site. Food warming is allowed. 

Participation Eligibility

  • Must have a registered business name or registered organization name 
  • Must be a Toronto-based business. Exceptions may apply.
  • Must serve the Toronto area
  • Must be an event taking place in Toronto 
    • Events taking place outside of Toronto are not eligible

Ineligible Applicants

  • Financial
  • Insurance
  • Car rental
  • Transportation services
  • Smoothies, protein shakes
  • Digital ad platforms
  • Premium VIP business lounge products
  • Events located outside of Toronto

Participation Requirements

If accepted into the program, you will need to complete and submit the following 5 business days prior to your booking start date: 

  • Pop-Up agreement 
  • Notice of Work (NOW) agreement 
  • AODA Airport Accessibility For All Training
    • 1-2 hour online training
  • Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Online Safety Awareness Training
    • 1-2 hour online training
  • Food Vendors Only: copy of Toronto Public Health issued Food Safety Inspection Report
